I had the opportunity to be part of an Author Symposium on April 4, sponsored by the Sacramento Area Librarians Organization. Geared for librarians, educators, and book lovers, five authors spoke about their books and the focus of their school author visits. Guest authors included Jeri Chase Ferris, Michael Elsohn Ross, Patricia Canterbury, Linda Joy Singleton, and myself.
Everyone had something different to offer–Jerri’s biographies; Pat’s mysteries; Michael’s emphasis on nature; Linda’s paranormal and sci-fi series; and my books that emphasize word choice–one of the Six Traits Writing strategies. The Sacramento Area Librarian Organization continues to be supportive of children’s authors and at Saturday’s symposium awarded author visit grants to several Sacramento-area schools. Many thanks to Judy Laird from Treasured Time for selling our books.
